Mars Maps are still in beta due to the large amount of extreme terrain and lack of a suitable tile set... 

could use a few more beta testers...

These particular maps have some interesting features which I will let you discover on your own - hopefully not too late.

all bases are not equal - there are plenty of resources - if you can keep them.
