Please note : this info from 2000 - anyone having better information please let me know
General
Using D3D mode on a 3D accelerator with only 2 Megabytes of memory is not fully supported. You may experience texture drop out or other unknown problems. We recommend that you run the game in Software Mode.
If your 3D card does not support DirectX, and does not have at least 4 Mb of video RAM, you will most likely have to run in Software Mode. On 3D accelerators with only 4MB of VRAM, you may be switched to low texture mode (8 bit).
If you run the game in 800x600 resolution, and experience texture drop out or any other problems, try switching back to 640x480 (default resolution).
You may notice slight seaming and transparency problems in Direct3D Mode.
We have listed many popular 3D accelerators with a description of any know problems. Please click on the link to your make or model of video card.
Notes on 3DFX Voodoo and Voodoo 2
Warzone 2100 performs excellent using 3Dfx Glide mode. You need Glide version 2.54 or higher installed for the game to function correctly. If you are unsure what version you have installed, contact your hardware manufacturer for assistance. Voodoo 1 based graphics accelerators do not support resolutions higher than 640x480.
Notes on 3DFX Banshee
Warzone 2100 runs perfectly in 3Dfx GLIDE Mode or Direct3D, providing you have the latest DX6 drivers installed. If you do have problems please ensure that you contact your card manufacturer to receive the latest BIOS update. There is a known problem if you have an older BIOS.
Notes on 3DFX Voodoo Rush
If you have problems with the cursor whilst running the game in 3Dfx Glide Mode (such as a ghost cursor), please run in Direct3D mode, by selecting "Warzone 2100 Direct3D" from the Start Menu.
Notes on Intel i740 (real 3D)
There are no known problems with this display adapter. If you do experience any graphics problem, download and install the drivers from your hardware manufacturer.
Notes on ATI Rage 128, Rage Fury
There are no known problems with family of display adapters. If you do experience any graphics problem, download and install the drivers from your hardware manufacturer.
Notes on ATI Rage Pro
Warzone 2100 will run adequately, providing you own a 4 MB Rage Pro card. On cards with only 2 Mb VRAM, you may experience texture drop out. If you experience problems, you can run Warzone in Software Mode, by selecting "Warzone 2100 Software" from the Start Menu.
Notes on Matrox G100 and G200
There are no known problems with either of these display adapters. If you do experience any graphics problem, download and install the drivers from your hardware manufacturer.
Notes on Matrox Millennium/Millennium II
Warzone 2100 will run using Direct3D, but there will be no transparencies. We recommend you run the game using Software mode. If you do experience any graphics problem, download and install the latest drivers and BIOS update from Matrox.
Notes on Matrox Mystique
Warzone 2100 will run adequately with the Matrox Mystique providing you have updated the drivers and BIOS. You will not be able to run in 800x600 resolution, please use 640x480 (default). If you only have 2 Mb VRAM on the card, you will have to run the game in Software Mode

I just revived my copy of WZ as I remembered it as a great game and got nostalgic.. boy, this is a pleasant surprise, I really forgot how good it is.. and to see a lot of others feeling the same way :)
..that aside I instantly balked at the fuzzy text and went in search of an answer. Now, I know I'm biased as I always have valued Matrox graphic cards as one of the best all rounder on the market... but I have to tell you that for a game like this it rules. It may not be the fastest card available but the options rules. Now before you think I work at Matrox.. here is what I found out. I have the Matrox Parhelia 128mb and it can set up specific 3d settings on each single game so it does not impact on any other game. I started playing around with the settings and found out that with 4x supersampling always enabled and anisotropic filtering turned on...fuzzy text be gone. I'm now running WZ in 1280x1024 with perfect text and no problems at all.
I tried combinations of triliniear, anisotropic, 16x FAA sampling and supersampling and only above combinations gave perfect text.
I do not know how much you can set up the Nvidia but if you can force it to run that combi then you could get good text again.
Sorry for the long rant.. just wanted to contribute to a player base that know what a good game is all about.
Notes on 3D Labs Permedia 2
Warzone 2100 runs well with the latest drivers. You will notice that the fog is gray (not colored) and you may see some menu items disappear. If you do experience any graphics problem, there is a BIOS update that is recommended, which should be available from your card manufacturer or from the 3D Labs web site.
Notes on Rendition V1000, V2100, V2200
There are no known problems with the Rendition V2100 or 2200. There may be seaming between the textures if you are running the game with the V1000 cards. There is nothing that we can do to correct this problem. If you do experience any graphics problem, download and install the drivers from your hardware manufacturer.
Notes on NVIDIA Riva TNT
Warzone 2100 performs well using Direct3D, with the latest drivers installed. It is possible you may experience some font corruption on the menus and in-game text. We HIGHLY recommend you install the DETONATOR driver for your NVIDIA Riva TNT card. You will find these drivers in the NVIDIA folder of disk one. We suggest that you first check your manufacturer's web site for new drivers before installing the reference drivers found on the CD.
If you continue to see font corruption after installing the drivers provided on the game disk, there is a registry patch that will fix this problem. This file is named DisableTexelOffset.reg. It can be found in the NVIDIA directory. If you wish to undo this change, run EnableTexelOffset.reg. These files assume that your card is set to its default values. If you are not sure if your card is set to the default values, run nvreset.exe from the same directory.
Notes on NVIDIA Riva 128/128ZX
Warzone 2100 performs well using Direct3D, with the latest DX6 drivers installed. You may experience some font corruption on the menus and in-game text. Further you may see that the smoke is not transparent. Please make sure you install the latest available drivers for your video card, this may fix the problem.
If you continue to get font corruption or trouble with the smoke after installing the latest available drivers for your RIVA 128/128ZX card, you can fix this problem by running a registry patch file called DisableTexelOffset.reg from the NVIDIA directory. If you wish to undo this change, run EnableTexelOffset.reg. These files assume that your card is set to its default values. If you are not sure if your card is set to the default values, run nvreset.exe from the same directory.
Notes on S3 Savage 3D
Warzone 2100 should run well on this card. If you are having problems running the game in 800x600, run in 640x480 (default). Also, you may need to turn texture compression off.
Notes on Trident Blade 3D
